This guide will walk you through how to set up and warm up a new TikTok account for Character Cafe, and how to start posting using the ready‑made assets we provide in our creator portal. Follow these steps closely to get your account algorithm‑ready and set up for consistent results.

DAY 0: Create your account
Important
When creating a new TikTok account, we need to show TikTok we're actual humans and not a bot else TikTok will shadowban us and our post will have low views. This step is super important!
1Step 1: Make a New TikTok Account
Use a new account — do not use a personal one. This helps the algorithm treat your content as niche-focused from the start.
2Step 2: Pick a Username
Choose a name that feels like an organic user — something that is natural that would fit in the niche without seeming like a brand or business account.
3Step 3: Write a Bio
Keep your bio casual, relatable, and on-theme for AI chat and roleplay. Keep it human, not corporate.

4Step 4: Profile Pic
Your profile picture does not have to be of a real person, but the subject should be clear, well lit, and easy to recognize.

5Step 5: Send Us Your Username
Send us your TikTok username via UpWork message (include your profile link). We'll verify your account and track progress.
DAY 0: Onboard to the Reposter Dashboard
We created an internal tool to handle all our content management.
We call it the Reposter Dashboard. This is where you'll log in to see the content you'll be posting each day and mark posts as posted so we can track your work.
For this step, please ask for your personalized sign‑up link by providing your email and phone number (optional) so we can create the account and save it.
DAYS 0–4: Warm up your account
Important
This warm-up process is SUPER IMPORTANT. If you don’t do it like this your posts will get extremely low views and we won’t be able to continue working with you 😢.
Before posting, you MUST "warm up" your new TikTok account for at least 3-4 days so the algorithm learns what niche you're in and who your videos will be pushed out to.
1Step 1: Search + Watch (15-25 min)
Search and watch content in the AI chatbot niche. Some examples are:
- Search for a query in the niche, then watch relevant videos all the way through. Do NOT mindlessly like each and every video that shows up in search results. Be intentional; like the ones that have performed well, or are genuinely engaging. Leave comments, repost, etc.
- Prioritize videos that either market other AI chatbot/roleplay apps (Notable other apps include Character AI/c.ai, Polybuzz, Dippy, Chai, Janitor AI, Emochi, Nectar AI) or are talking about these apps.
- Don't fast scroll — be intentional with your likes/comments/etc. If the video fits within the niche, engage with it in a natural way.
- Do this for ~15-25 minutes right after creating the account.
2Step 2: Bottom‑Up Engagement Method (15-25 min/day)
Once you've searched for and engaged with enough videos in this niche, your For You Page will start showing the same type of content. Once your For You page is consistently showing this type of content, you can fully switch to your For You Page, and engage with similar videos:
Note:
If your For You Page is not showing a majority of relevant ai chatbot content, go back to Step 1 and continue searching for relevant queries, watching and engaging with those videos.
- Engage only with AI‑chatbot niche content (as above).
- Maintain steady, intentional engagement for ~15-25 minutes.
Pro Tip: Only repost videos with 500K+ views that are relevant to the niche.
Don’t overthink it — act like a human
- Watch niche videos at least 70% through before moving on.
- Repost and comment naturally with short, human reactions.
- Keep behavior natural. Don't be spammy writing the same comments on every video, etc.
Readiness Check (Day 5): When your account is ready to post
- After 3-4 days of consistent engagement in the niche.
- Your For You Page mostly shows AI chatbot/c.ai content.
If both are true, you're ready to start posting.
DAY 5: Start Posting
You're now ready to post using the assets provided in the Creator/Reposter Dashboard.
- Access the Reposter Dashboard.
- Download content.Download all the images on your phone.
- Create the post accordingly.
🚨 Important: Make sure you create the slideshow in the same order as they're shown within the portal.
Add music. The recommended list of songs are usually pretty decent, but choose a track that is fitting for the overall vibe of the post, or something that stands out.
Copy the post title and add the post title from the Reposter Dashboard.
Post or add to drafts.
🚨 Important: Change the post status in the Creator Dashboard. This is important so we can track the work and pay you. We also run an automation to check views after 7 days for future bonuses.
